2016 Presidential Race Update: Rubio Takes on Trump in Recent Republican Debate
Following the huge leads that Donald Trump has seen over the past few weeks, his rivals are finally on the verge of retaliating, specifically Marco Rubio, who is currently in third place in most recent polls.
While Rubio has shown in previous debates that he could actually take over the talkative business mogul, the most recent presidential debate has shown another side of the Florida senator.
Some believe that it might be too late for him to show this strong and rather aggressive side, while others think his timing was perfect. Undeniably, Rubio took the debate by storm, prodding and poking all the red buttons in Trump's campaign. A lot of times during the exchange between Trump and Rubio, the latter showed that he won't allow any more of the business mogul's trampling words in his stage.
Ted Cruz also had something to say, but Rubio's attacks on the real estate magnate's Trump University, immigration insights, and health care plans basically wrapped up the night.
Trump seemed shocked and unable to think of where Rubio suddenly acquired his willpower to fight and stand up before Super Tuesday, especially when Rubio tackled the issue about Israel. "The position you've taken is an anti-Israel position," Rubio said, according to CNN.
The Republican front-runner then called himself a "negotiator," further challenging Rubio's points. Rubio then gave the amazing statement that could be enough to get him a few extra points on Super Tuesday's big events. "The Palestinians are not a real estate deal, Donald," he said.
A lot of experts took notice of how Rubio claimed the stage and how he demonstrated that he is worth the votes and support of people who believe Trump is the only one who can take the spotlight in the presidential race.
Finally, Trump seemed to get tired of the debate, especially after getting toasted and cooked fine by Rubio. However, he remained confident, telling debate moderator Chris Cuomo that his co-Republican candidates were "desperate."
Desperate or not, Rubio took the 10th Republican debate's trophy for his sense of urgency and determination to snatch the spotlight from Trump, who has double-digit leads over his opponents in previous polls.
