2016 Volkswagen Passat U.S. Pricing Details and Specs Finally Revealed
The 2016 Volkswagen Passat's U.S. pricing details and specs have finally been revealed, and the updated model will reportedly not have a huge price difference with its predecessor.
The base model for the 2016 Volkswagen Passat will reportedly come with a starting price of $23,260. This model, which features the six-speed automatic transmission, has the same price with last year's Passat edition, according to MSN.
The S model of the 2016 Volkswagen Passat has a 1.8-liter turbo-four engine that can put out a maximum of 170 hp and 184-lb.ft. of torque. It is also equipped with dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, rearview camera, automatic post-collision braking, 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels, and an infotainment system with 5-inch color touch screen display, Edmunds reports.
Consumers can also cough up an additional $1,245 to add a Lighting Package with front foglights, LED headlights, DRLs, and taillights to the S model, the report adds.
The 2016 Volkswagen Passat R-Line, on the other hand, has a starting price of $24,795. This model boasts of new rocker panels, newly improved black-accented bumpers, 19-inch aluminum alloys, and a new rear diffuser. Buyers can add $775 for the Comfort Package, which includes V-Tex leatherette seats, heated exterior mirrors and washer nozzles, and power driver seats, the report details.
The SE models carry a starting price of $27,100. This model features 6.3-inch color display, adaptive cruise control, autonomous braking with front assist, SiriusXM satellite radio, forward collision warning, and tilt-and-slide power sunroof. The model, which includes the Technology Package, comes with a starting price of $29,230 and includes a blind spot monitor, keyless entry, hands-free trunk opener, navigation, and rear traffic alert with braking.
The 2016 Volkswagen Passat SEL model costs $31,315 and includes a Fender Premium audio system, rear-seat pass-through, power front seats that have memory settings for the driver's seat, and Vienna leather seat covers. For $35,090, consumers can have the SEL Premium with remote start, park distance control, LEDs, parking steering assistant, active blind spot monitor, and lane departure warning.
The most expensive 2016 Passat V6 SEL Premium comes with a hefty price of $37,655. This model boasts of a 3.6-liter engine that can put out a maximum of 280 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque.
The 2016 Volkswagen Passat will be available for purchase starting this fall.
