Aaliyah Appears on New Song 'Quit Hatin;' Fans React
Aaliyah Haughton may have lost her life in 2001, but the singer is still being featured in new music in the form of the previously unheard track "Quit Hatin.'"
The music world and fans of the multi-platinum singer took to social media to wish the singer a happy birthday which would have been her 34th on Jan 16. Shortly after, "Quit Hatin'" appeared on YouTube with production credits being given to "Knotch."
Aaliyah's vocals were recognized by the throngs of fans who listened to her song about loving a man much to the disapproval of friends.

"They say you a baller/ I hear you're just a player/ And all my friends tell me/ I should have never dated/ But I'm in love with you/ And I'mma have to tell em/ Quit hatin' on him, don't be jealous," the late singer croons.
A number of people thought the song should be getting played on radio stations.
"They HAVE to promote this song, and get it lots of airplay," one person wrote on YouTube. "They can't let a song this good go to waste like that. And if they can, come up with a video concept."
Another person took to Twitter to speak about the late singer's contribution to R&B music.
"That new unreleased Aaliyah song is what R&B should be these days, rip," the person wrote.
Drake, 26-year-old chart-topping Canadian recording artist, was rumored to be executive producing the late singer's second posthumous album, according to HipHopDx.com reports last year. While he released a song called "Enough Said" with the singer, Aaliyah's longtime friends and collaborators Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott and Timothy "Timbaland" Mosley did not approve of the idea of hearing an album full of unreleased vocals from the singer.
"We don't know what her reasoning for not putting those records out. Maybe she didn't feel like they were her best work," Elliot said on New York radio station Hot 97 last year. "We just don't want to tap into that, just spiritually something else you know ... very very touchy. Unless her parents came in and conducted that."
