'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 5 Episode 5 Spoilers: Fitz's Old Friend Saves Him from Prison

Fitz's (Iain De Caestecker) whereabouts will finally be revealed in the upcoming episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

In the episode titled "Rewind," the fans will get to find out where Fitz has been all this time that his squad members are battling for their lives in outer space. The promo shows that when Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the rest were abducted while they were all in the diner, Fitz was left behind. When the government started the investigation on what happened to the S.H.I.E.L.D. team, Fitz had no idea what to say. He was hauled off to prison, where he has stayed until someone saves him.

In the clip, three generals are shown interrogating Fitz. It is suggested that they have done it a number of times already. The officials are clearly frustrated with the agent's inability to explain what happened to Coulson and the others. When Fitz tells them that he thinks they have been abducted by aliens, the others have had enough. They want to lock him up for good, but the arrival of his lawyer stops them. Fitz looks confused since he does not have a counsel, but when Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) appears wearing a suit and glasses, he cannot believe his eyes.

With Lance's help, Fitz will do everything to find his lost team. In an interview with TVLine, Blood spoke about his character's return in the ABC series. According to him, Lance has probably been busy doing some mercenary work with his wife. Since leaving S.H.I.E.L.D., he and Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) have been exploring. As to how Lance would be able to assist Fitz, Blood said the two would have moments when they do not agree with one another, but it is okay.

"Oh yeah, I don't think Fitz could have managed it without him — or at least that's what I think Hunter tells himself. Fitz is very grateful to see him, despite the fact that some of his ideas don't go quite according to plan," the actor teased.

Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 5 airs Fridays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
