AJ Lee to Be Fired Because of CM Punk Chants?

CM Punk hasn't been with the WWE since his resignation in January earlier this year but his name is still reverberating whenever AJ Lee appears on the ring.

Punk hasn't looked back from his resignation but he was reportedly backstage during an independent wrestling promotion last weekend. Apparently, he was there to support his friend Cliff Compton who was on his way to the OVW championship, which he won that night.

It was reported that those who were backstage were told not to approach Punk, only talking to Rip Rogers before leaving with Compton.

While there were doubts as to why Punk visited Compton before his championship match, there were speculations that him visiting his old friend at that particular time was an indication that he himself wanted to get back into wrestling. Still, it's no certainty on whether he really will come back, much to the anticipation of his fans.

Meanwhile, as AJ Lee fights her way to being a Diva champion, her husband's name has been a cause and threat for her being fired from the WWE. While fans certainly mean no harm in chanting Punk's name, it might actually be grounds for getting Lee fired.

Apparently, the tension between Lee and her employers is caused by Punk's legal battle with Vince McMahon of the WWE. Apart from unceremoniously leaving the scene in January, Punk also began pulling out all of his merchandise from online WWE stores.

Only recently, Punk and his representatives are demanding royalties for the inclusion of his character in the roster of the game WWE 2K15. Things are bad enough to the point that WWE has ordered fans to put down and ban CM Punk signs during matches.

It is still unlikely that Lee would get fired because of Punk as she is one of the most prized talents of the WWE.
