Alcatel OneTouch Idol Pro 4 Rumors: Windows 10 'Superphone' with Snapdragon 820, Continuum
Alcatel is rumored to be brewing something for its fans and it's being teased as the company's "superphone." There is no confirmation yet but speculations say that the device is going to be called the OneTouch Idol Pro 4. According to a report by WMPU, Steve Cistulli, Senior Vice President of Alcatel North America, previously announced that they would be releasing a number of Windows 10 Mobile devices. Rumors say that the Idol Pro 4 is one of them.
There isn't a lot of information about the smartphone yet but sources say that it will be Alcatel's new Windows 10 Mobile flagship device. It's also said to be equipped with Qualcomm's latest and fastest processor, the Snapdragon 820, which is expected in most flagship devices that are coming out at the Mobile World Congress 2016.
Moreover, the rumored Idol Pro 4 is reported to also have the Continuum for phones support. This will allow the mobile device to be used like a Windows 10 PC when connected to a large monitor, mouse and keyboard. However, Phones Review detailed that the smartphone is touted to have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 only. This puts the Idol Pro 4 in a skeptical position of being tagged as Alcatel's "superphone." Also, the expected RAM count for the device is 3 or 4 GB, considering the processor, and 32 GB for storage.
Windows Central also detailed that the handset will have a Reset Protection, which will let owners lock, ring or erase the device remotely in case they lose it. There are also reports saying that the device is already confirmed to be made available by T-Mobile in the United States.
The Idol Pro 4 is currently still under development, thus the scarcity of details, but it's expected that the device will be sporting high-end specs. There are no official details yet as well so it's best to take these reports with a grain of salt.
