Alex Rodriguez MLB 2015 News: Apologizes to MLB and Fans in Handwritten Note

Alex Rodriguez has issued an apology to everyone in the MLB, the Steinbrenner family, and of course the fans for his steroid use and litigious behavior. The handwritten note online Tuesday took responsibility for his actions and made claims that he is ready to get back to his job.

"I take full responsibility for the mistakes that led to my suspension for the 2014 season. I regret that my actions made the situation worse than it needed to be. To Major League Baseball, the Yankees, the Steinbrenner family, the Players Association and you, the fans, I can only say I'm sorry."

"I accept the fact that many of you will not believe my apology or anything that I say at this point," he continued, referring to his past promises never to use steroids again. "I understand why and that's on me. It was gracious of the Yankees to offer me the use of Yankee Stadium for this apology, but I decided that next time I am in Yankee Stadium, I should be in pinstripes doing my job."

Craig Calcaterra of Hardball Talk released his own handwritten note saying, "If you are a normal person you do not think a baseball player owes you an apology." However, it may be far too late in the case of A-Rod.

Former Yankee player and teammate Andy Pettitte took the apology route right away and now the team is retiring his number and by and large he still has the respect of the fans. Much of the same can be said for another former Yankee who announced his retirement today, Jason Giambi. Alex will have to wait and see if Yankee and baseball fans are ever ready to forgive him.
