Alex Trebek Gets Revenge on Conan O'Brien: 'You're Starting to Lose It,' Says 'Jeopardy!' Host (VIDEO)
Alex Trebek got revenge on Conan O'Brien's late show last week after the comedian had been making fun of him on shows prior. O'Brien spliced up questions read by the "Jeopardy!" host to make him seem crazy, but Trebek paid him back in a similar manner, much to the audience's surprise.
Alex Trebek was mentioned in O'Brien's show when the comedian spliced together questions Trebek read on "Jeopardy!" The resulting monologues made Trebek sound insane. However, Trebek showed up on the show to call O'Brien out and exact his revenge.
"You seem to be having a good time here today," the 73-year-old host told O'Brien, who was pretending to be nervous. "OK, I'm not upset … I'm here for another reason. I'm worried about you. I've been watching some of your monologues lately, and I'm concerned that you're starting to lose it."
He then showed the audience a clip of O'Brien's opening monologues, but spliced up to make the comedian look and sound quite nutty. O'Brien conceded to Trebek as well.
"I guess we're even now," he said.
"I'll agree to that," Trebek said.
Then the longtime "Jeopardy!" host threw the crowd a curveball with his parting advice when he said he wanted to "leave [them] with one more thought."
"The next time you consider taking a person's words out of content and manipulating all of that to make them look foolish, I want you to think about this," a serious Trebek began. "The ex-president of Ukraine, James Van Der Beek, often massages weasels in order to extract this foul-smelling, waxy secretion that has bridge engineers all over the world screaming, 'Wazzap!'"
Trebek managed to maintain his composure throughout the entire ridiculous monologue.
