'Alien: Covenant' New Teaser Photo Shows Major Cast
After the release of a first-look trailer last December 2016, the upcoming installment of the "Alien" franchise, titled "Alien: Covenant," once again unveiled new teasers in the form of photos.
In two new tweets, the producers of the film shared a photo of the cast while another photo showed a scene from the upcoming movie. The photo showing all the cast members of the movie was captioned, "Introducing the #AlienCovenant crew."
The movie stars James Franco ("Spring Break"), who is presumed to play the ill-fated character who will get alien particulate in his ear, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In the newly released photo, Franco is shown to be at the center of the group and is wearing what seems to be a blanket that is donned like a robe.
Franco is joined by Michael Fassbender, who will likely reprise his role from the "Alien" 2012 prequel, "Prometheus" - the synthetic David, who was the only survivor of the ill-fated expedition.
Other than that, the movie stars Billy Crudup ("Watchmen"), Demian Bichir ("The Hateful Eight"), Danny McBride ("Eastbound & Down") and Katherine Waterston ("Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them").
In addition, the movie also released a sneak peek during FX's "Legion" episode yesterday, Feb. 22. So far, it is still the movie's second trailer to come out since December of last year.
The upcoming film is directed by Ridley Scott, the director of the first "Alien" movie in 1979 and the most recent, "Prometheus."
Scott reveals in a previous interview with Digital Spy that both "Prometheus" and the upcoming "Alien: Covenant" was inspired by his personal beliefs about the origins of mankind. "I think there's some kind of decision being made. I believe in a higher force - if we want to call it God, then it's God," the director said.
"Alien: Covenant" is set to open in U.S. theaters on May 19.
