'American Horror Story: Hotel' Episode 7 Preview: What is the Link Between Countess And James March?

The horror anthology series on FX, "American Horror Story: Hotel," is enjoying great success. The show was recently renewed for another season – much to the delight of its creator Ryan Murphy. The news also comes with the possibility that singer Lady Gaga is being considered to return in the anthology's next run. Lady Gaga's portrayal of the fashionista owner of Hotel Cortez, the Countess, has been well-received, thus the move to keep her in the show. In the meantime, the show is on its seventh episode titled "Flicker" which is set to air on November 18. According to a report in CarterMatt, the connection between the Countess and the hotel's original owner, James March (Evan Peters) will be revealed in the coming episode.

This connection will shed some light on the Countess and her backstory. In the preview video, she was shown talking to an unknown man who may be responsible for her contracting the ancient blood virus. He is heard inviting her to join them, to which she replies, "Yes, forever." While this scene did not reveal the man's identity, another scene showed her with hotel owner James. The scene showed her walking into a room where James was doing some unspeakable act with a guest. She then tells James, "Next time I want to watch," much to the delight of the man. This fuels speculation that the two may have been more than just acquaintances.

The episode's official synopsis also reveals that Will Drake (Cheyenne Jackson), who is doing some renovation work at the hotel, discovers "one of the Hotel's greatest secrets," which in the preview is shown as a mysterious and hidden hallway that has not been used for years. The hallway, however, houses an equally mysterious killer who ends up killing one of Drake's men.

As for the fate of Detective John Lowe, he is said to under psychiatric evaluation after his psychotic break in the previous episode. Despite this, he still continues to look for the Ten Commandments Killer, his original mission that brought him to the hotel in the first place.
