Anderson Silva vs. Michael Bisping Fight News: 'The Count' Talks Trash At Silva, Advises 'The Spider' To 'Leave The Viagra Out'
Veteran UFC middleweight contender Michael Bisping has begun the word war against Anderson Silva, more than a month away from their scheduled fight on February 27th.
"The Count" and "The Spider" will be headlining the UFC Fight Pass event, which is set to take place at London's O2 Arena in the former's home country of England.
Bisping (27-7 with 15 victories by knockout) last saw action in July against fellow veteran Thales Leites, where he won by split decision.
Known as a brash talking fighter, the 36-year-old professional mixed martial arts fighter already had some choice words for the former long-time middleweight champion and MMA pound-for-pound king.
In a tweet he posted on Christmas, Bisping fired at Silva's recent drug-testing debacle, which caused his one-year suspension from competition.
"@SpiderAnderson see you in London my friend! Just leave the viagra out of it! #randomtesting," Bisping wrote in his Twitter post.
After his UFC 183 fight against former welterweight title contender and mixed martial arts veteran Nick Diaz, Silva tested positive for anabolic steroids. Originally awarded with a unanimous decision verdict, the fight was then overturned to a no contest.
Diaz also tested positive for marijuana metabolites.
Seven months after the tests came out, the Silva camp went on to pin the blame on something else.
In an August report by Marc Raimondi of MMA Fighting, the Brazilian's camp argued that the test might have been contaminated by the sexual performance medication that Silva admittedly uses. To be specific, the report adds that Silva's alleged sex-enhancing supplement could have been tainted with Drostanolone metabolite, an exogenous Anabolic agent.
It also noted that Silva was also taking another supplement that contained androstane.
Upon the release of the news, Silva's fellow fighters had mixed reactions regarding the matter. For Ultimate Fighter 1 alum and UFC broadcaster Kenny Florian, it should be noted never to "take man stuff" recommended by training partners from Thailand or Brazil.
Former opponent Chris Weidman, on the other hand, went on to side with Silva, noting that "the truth sets you free."
