Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Chris Martin Awkwardly Kiss on 'SNL' (VIDEO)
Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone shared possibly the most awkward kiss ever during a "Saturday Night Live" sketch this weekend, and then things only got more awkward when "Coldplay" frontman Chris Martin cut in between the Hollywood couple to show them how it's done. Garfield also hosted "SNL" as part of his promotional tour for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."
Andrew Garfield, 30, and Emma Stone, 25 starred in a sketch supposedly about the end of the "Amazing Spider-Man" sequel. Taran Killam played the director, Jay Pharoah played the weird stagehand and Garfield and Stone parodied themselves playing Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy.
In the skit, Garfield and Stone just can't get the hang of kissing: the co-star couple blow air into each others' mouths, stick out their tongues awkwardly and at one point, Garfield even sucks on Stone's chin. Once a faux-frustrated Killam tells them that their version of "kissing normally" isn't working, Martin enters the scene.
"I could give it a try if you like," Martin says.
"I love it, but it's up to the actors," Killam replies.
"Uh … yeah," says Stone eagerly, but she's surprised when Martin takes her place and gets ready to kiss her boyfriend.
"Now you listen to me you beautiful Spidery-man, with great power comes great responsibility, and our responsibility is to make sweet, sweet love," Martin says in a truly cringe-worthy scene. "So why don't you go ahead and show me that beautiful little tongue … come to papa."
Garfield played along well with the stage kiss as the British entertainers had a fake make-out session.
Saturday's episodes of "SNL" also had a parody press conference mocking disgraced Clippers owner Donald Sterling and Stone also showed up in Garfield's opening monologue. Coldplay was the musical guest for the night.
