Apple iPhone 7c Update & Rumors: Mass Production Expected Soon, Specs Include 4-Inch Display, 8MP Camera, Fingerprint Scanner
With the year 2015 closing, many are hopeful that Apple will bring another cheaper and smaller iPhone in 2016. Fortunately, there are rumors that the Cupertino-based tech giant will launch an Apple iPhone 7c and it may come around earlier than expected.
According to GSM Arena, the purported device was initially rumored to launch sometime in September 2016. But new reports surfaced indicating that it will come earlier than that. The source said that a recent China Mobile roadmap revealed an April launch for the iPhone 7c.
There is no confirmation to this particular report, but a new one also suggested that the device will go into mass production soon.
As noted in Geeky Gadgets, the production of the device will already start because sources say that Apple has already completed the small-scale trial production. This means that it will be ready to commence its full-scale production by January. But since there is no official confirmation to that yet, so it's best to take things with a grain of salt.
Furthermore, as detailed by International Business Times, the iPhone 7c is speculated to sport a 4-inch retina display with 1136x640 pixels resolution. A 2.5D glass cover is also expected. Under the hood, the handset is said to carry Apple's proprietary A9 CPU and 2 GB of RAM, along with an inbuilt storage of 16 GB. As for the camera specs, the device is said to carry the usual 8-megapixel rear camera.
India Today also noted that the handset will feature a Touch ID fingerprint scanner. Apple is also said to incorporate an upgraded version of the 3D Touch pressure sensitive display technology. Some have dubbed it as the 3D Multitouch. A 1,642mAh battery pack is expected to bring power to the device.
Finally, the iPhone 7c is speculated to be priced at around $400 to $500. Those who are interested to get their hands on the smartphone will have to watch out for more updates to find out more about it.
