'Arrow' Season 3 Spoilers, Plot News: Stephen Amell Talks The Arrow's Return

Last night on "Arrow" the team, who still thinks that Oliver is dead, tried to take care of business as Brick went on a killing spree, while Laurel donned the Black Canary mask, much to the disapproval of Roy and Diggle. It's only a matter of time before the Arrow comes back, but how will the team react when he returns to Starling City?

According to Stephen Amell, who plays the Arrow, the team will be experiencing a mixed bag of emotions.

"It's rocky … Because all of them, when I'm gone, have to decide if they're doing this because it was for me or if they're doing this for them … So me coming back and just being dictatorial and 'my way or the highway' is just not going to work," he told Variety at the recent Television Critics Association winter press tour.

Oliver is slated to make his appearance to the Arrow team on episode 13 of the show.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim told the website, "One of the things that Oliver is learning this year is 'wow, there's a whole lot of people who have risen up. [He's] going to have to come to terms with that too. That's not necessarily going to be easy for him.

One of the things that Oliver has to deal with is discovering what his ex, Laurel, has been up to in his absence. "Oliver doesn't want Laurel to be the Black Canary at all. He doesn't want her out there," said Amell. "As far as he's concerned, she's more useful, and has been, in the district attorney's office. 'You catch then, I cook them,'—we said that in the season premiere."

As for how the Arrow's encounter with Ra's al Ghul will affect him in the future, Amell said, "I think he comes back a little more soft-spoken, a little humbled and forced to do things and work with people that he never would have considered working with before."

"Arrow" Season 3 airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
