'Arrow' Season 4 Spoilers: EP Wendy Mericle on Felicity as the Oracle

Since the fourth season of "Arrow" is expected to return soon, fans have been waiting for details regarding the upcoming episodes.

The first half of "Arrow" season 4 ended with putting many of the characters' fates in question. With that, the executive producer of the series, Marc Guggenheim, recently spoke to IGN about what fans can expect when the series returns.

He explained that Oliver McQueen, played by Stephen Amell, will be working extra hard to take down his worst enemy yet, Damien Darhk, played by Neal McDonough, especially after he almost killed Felicty, played by Emily Bett Rickards. While that is expected, he also hinted that an exciting twist will be coming to the series.

He said, "The back half of the season, we're pretty much following the same structure that we have in seasons past where obviously the Big Bad gears up. That said, we're going to throw a hard six in episode 15 that I think will surprise people. We're going to do something that's never been done before on 'Arrow' with the Big Bad. Fifteen is a real game-changer episode for us."

In addition, there are reports revealing Felicity's fate after being put in danger during the midseason finale. Photos from the set were leaked that gave hints as to what could happen to Felicty when the series returns.

One of the photos showed Felicity bleeding alongside a limo after a shootout. After much distress, fans were assured that Felicty survived the incident. However, it seems as though her future will forever be changed. Another photo showed her in a wheelchair, which had fans speculating that she could be paralyzed.

This also led to theories that Felicty could become the Oracle, due to her condition. However, executive producer Wendy Mericle addressed the rumors, according to TV Line. Mericle stated, "That's something we definitely talked about [doing] with Felicity in the beginning…. But yeah, it will not be Oracle, sadly. People have to tune in to see what happens."

With that, fans will have to wait until Jan. 20 to see the return of "Arrow" season 2.
