'Assetto Corsa' Release Dates For PS4 And Xbox One Revealed, To Include PC 'Dream Packs'
Sim racing video game "Assetto Corsa" is finally coming to consoles. According to PlayStation Lifestyle, Italian video game developer Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games announced that the game will now be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles beginning April 19 in North America and April 22 in Europe.
The game has long been exclusive to PC and available on Steam only. So this time, the team behind the game is going out of the box and expanding it to more gamers via the consoles. They're also making sure that the console version of the game will be as true to the game as the PC version.
As noted in Toonzone, Kunos Simulazioni will not "dumb down" the console version. Executive producer and co-founder Marco Massarutto also explained that instead of "freezing the development of the PC version," they have "brought forward the overall process in parallel, creating a symbiosis that takes advantages from each platform." IGN also detailed that the game will be highlighting "pure physics realism" over car collecting. But fans of the game can expect to see in the console versions over 100 cars and 20 various track configurations.
All the DLCs that have been released last year for the PC edition will also be transported along to the consoles once it is launched. This means that all of the PC "Dream Packs" which include the new cars and circuits, will be included and will also be getting future updates at the same time of release for the PC.
It's also revealed that the game will get an all-new user interface and will run at full HD for the PS4 while 900p for the Xbox One version. Massarutto revealed that they did try to run the Xbox One version with full HD but he admitted that it was not possible for them to do so.
Those who will pre-order "Assetto Corsa" will receive the "Performance Pack" which comes along with three exclusive cars.
