'Bachelor' Star Chris Soules in Court for Quick Hearing

"Bachelor" alum Chris Soules returned to Iowa court on Thursday, Sept. 14 for a quick pre-trial hearing on the deadly car accident he was involved back in April.

The 35-year-old wore a white button-down shirt paired with a navy suit and accentuated it with a red tie for the hearing. He appeared emotionless at court according to KWWL. He just sat there and did not utter a single word.

At the brief hearing, Soules' attorneys and the prosecutors came to an agreement prior out of court. While they will retract the bill of particulars, they will also amend the details of the trial.

The legal team still intends to have the case dismissed. Although the charges remain the same, the narrative behind it will be adjusted to give the defense team a chance to pursue a dismissal.

Soules is charged for leaving the scene of the crash, where he rear-ended and killed tractor driver, Kenneth Mosher, 66. A 911 tape reveals that the former "Bachelor" reported the crash to authorities, but for fleeing the crash site, he has been charged with a Class D felony.

If convicted, Soules should face a five-year sentence.

In May, Soules pleaded not guilty. Additionally, his lawyers filed a motion for a dismissal. The judge, however, denied this. The legal time eventually motioned for a bill of particulars, requiring the state to provide evidence ahead of the trial. Details such as the date and time of Mosher's death should be presented.

Court records indicate that the hearing for a motion to dismiss the case is scheduled to take place this Oct. 10. A jury trial is set for Nov. 16. The actual trial will begin in Jan. 2018, and should last for four to five days.
