'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' Spoilers: Ben Affleck Talks About a Death of an Iconic Character
One of the leads for the upcoming film "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" just revealed some juicy details concerning an iconic character within the franchise.
According to Ben Affleck, who stars as the Dark Knight, a death is to be expected in the upcoming DC film "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice." Ben Affleck recently teased the upcoming death during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Affleck revealed that his character's sidekick, Robin, is dead. With that, fans should not expect to see Robinin the upcoming film. Affleck also explained that this piece of information will play a big role in how his character will be portrayed.
He said that in "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" will depict Batman still devastated by and mourning the loss of his sidekick, which will fuel his motivations in the upcoming film.
Affleck also added, "What I wanted was to create a Batman that was sort of at the end of his rope physically and psychologically and emotionally, a guy who was beaten down by the world, a guy who was a little bit more of a slugger, who has more gray in his hair, and who was questioning whether the whole journey that he lived as Batman was in fact even worth it, given that he was not superhero, but now had to face a super-being, which none of the other Batmans had to confront in the movie world."
Aside from Batman, avid fans of Robin were sad to hear the news. The last portrayal of Robin was seen in Christopher Nolan's take on the franchise, which had the character played by Joseph-Gordon Levitt.
"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is expected to release in theaters on March 25.
