'Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice' Spoilers: Insights Into Batman's, Superman's Motivations In New Teasers
With the premiere of the much anticipated DC superhero team-up film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" just a few weeks away, Warner Bros. dropped two new 30-second TV spots revealing each superhero's personal motivation for battling the other in the forthcoming film.
"He's the one that brought the war to us," Batman/Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) tells his loyal butler Alfred (Jeremy Irons) in the fourth TV spot to be released for "Dawn of Justice."
The next part of the TV spot shows Wayne comforting a little girl amidst the rubble in the aftermath of Superman's (Henry Cavill) epic battle with General Zod (Michael Shannon) in "Man of Steel" (2013), a disaster that apparently killed a lot of people. "Count the dead," the Caped Crusader says. "It's thousands of people." He asks: "What's next? Millions?"
The last part shows Wayne talking to Alfred again, becoming visibly upset and saying, "He has the power to wipe out the entire human race and if we believe there's even a one percent chance that he is our enemy, we have to take it as an absolute certainty." Wayne adds, "Now we have to destroy him."
The other new teaser reveals what things look like from Superman's point of view. It is the third TV spot released for the film. "This bat vigilante, it's like a one-man reign of terror," a voice says at the beginning of the clip.
"Nobody cares about Clark Kent taking on the Batman," Perry White (Laurence Fishburne), Kent's boss at the Daily Planet, is shown yelling at him in the next part of the clip.
Later, Superman confronts the Dark Knight, telling him, "Next time they shine your light in the sky, don't go to it."
"The Bat is dead," he says. "Bury it."
Though they did not appear in these two new teasers, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" also stars Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), and Lois Lane (Amy Adams).
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" lands in cinemas on March 25.
