Aside from the setting, details about Jimmy McGills' journey to becoming Saul Goodman were shared by Bob Odenkirk himself, as well as the creators of the series. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Odenkirk shared some insight about his upcoming transformation.

He stated, "It's all about getting him to the cliff and having him want to jump. That's my feeling on it; I don't know any truth of it because I don't write it, but my feeling is it's more of he's getting there piece by piece."

As for co-creator Peter Gould, he explained that Jimmy will not be transitioning as quickly as expected. During a Q&A with New York Times, he stated, "We figured out not too long ago that Saul Goodman is the tragic endgame of this series. I'm not saying we won't see him [this season]; I'm not saying we will see him. But it dawned on us that Saul Goodman is not necessarily someone we should look forward to meeting."

In addition, it was revealed that fans should expect a change in course for Mike Ehrmantraut, played by Jonathan Banks. It was said that Jimmy will play an influence on Mike's new shift in direction for the episodes to come.

"Better Call Saul" season 2 is expected to premiere this Feb. 15.
