Beyond Two Souls Nude Leak Lawsuit: Sony and Ellen Page Determined to Take Down Images

The video game Beyond: Two Souls has been making waves this week because of leaked nude photos of the game's character, Jodie, finding their way to the Internet, causing a commotion for both Sony and the actress who portrays Jodie, Ellen Page.

While the video game is animated and Page provides the voice of the game, the likeness of the character is modeled after Page, so nude images within the game make it look as if it is her.

Gaming websites starting posting the lewd pictures of the game on their sites and once Page became aware of the situation, she threatened to sue Sony, who then in turn went after the sites posting the images.

"The images are from an illegally hacked console and is very damaging for Ellen Page," a Sony representative reportedly told Cinema Blend. "It's not actually her body. I would really appreciate if you can take the story down to end the cycle of discussion around this."

Apparently the camera angles within the game are able to be changed if the gamer has a debugged PS3. In debug mode, players are able to access coding and internal game functions and play with the settings.

Beyond: Two Souls has a scene where Jodi takes a shower, but the nudity is covered with strategic camera movements and object placement. The leaked images reveal, that the gamer moved the camera angles to show off a fully mapped out unclothed version of the character.

Bustle.com reports that it appears Page was unaware that a full body scale of her was created. Page has not done any sexual explicit scenes in any of her movies, and did not for this game.

It is unclear what further measures will be taken.

Despite the recent controversy, Beyond: Two Souls, is being heralded as a work of art with stunning visuals and graphics as the inspiration for the main character came from Page's likeness, said the director.

The game was released on Oct. 8 for the PS3.
