Black Friday 2011 Ad: Sears' Doorbuster Deals Revealed; Stores to Be Closed on Thanksgiving
As the pre-Black Friday fever rises, Sears has announced that its doors will open at 4 a.m. the day after Thanksgiving, and released its Black Friday ad along with doorbuster deals. However, the chain's stores nationwide will remain closed on Thanksgiving Day to give employees and their families a chance to celebrate the holiday, the company announced.
Tom Aiello, a spokesman for Hoffman Estates-based Sears Holdings Corp., which owns Sears and Kmart, said in a statement Friday that the store will open the sale early on Friday morning in order to give costumers as well as employees some more time to enjoy the Thanksgiving night.
"Sears listened to customers who said they didn’t want to be forced to get up at midnight to get the best deals," Aiello said. "Also, with more customers going online to do their holiday shopping, we've seen an increased use of our online tools like the 'buy online, pick up in store' function, which let customers pre-purchase items #&8212; and access Black Friday deals #&8212; from the comfort of their homes and conveniently pick them up in-store."

Walmart, for example, will open at 10 p.m. Thanksgiving evening.
Sears leaked its Black Friday 2011 ad this weekend, announcing major doorbuster deals and big savings on appliances, electronics, clothes and tools. The sale will last into Saturday and some deals will remain up until Cyber Monday.
Shoppers can save up to 30 percent off on all Kenmore appliances. Refrigerators, ovens and dishwashers will be available for less than $400. Coffeemakers and blenders will be sold for less than $30. Dyson vacuums will be sold for as low as $300. Select armoires will be less than $70.
Fine jewelry from more than ten jewelers will be 70 percent off, with an additional 20 percent off at purchase. Men's and women's fragrances will be up to 30 percent off.
Customers can save up to 50 percent off on select clothing. Levi's jeans, Covington sweaters and Reebok and Sketchers shoes all face significant markdowns. Sears' entire stock of fleeces, suit separates, team apparel, dress shoes and women’s intimates will be up to 60 percent off.
Though Sears will not offer as many deals on electronics as Best Buy and Walmart, Black Friday shoppers will see sales on select HDTVs, digital cameras, cell phones, and accessories.
Sears has used Mondays in November to run "Cyber Monday Now" sales events, which offer consumers additional deals.
