Black Friday 2011: Best Buy Customers Invited to 'RSVP' on Facebook for Black Friday Sales

Get special deals and info for Black Friday events around country

Best Buy is inviting customers to RSVP on its Black Friday page on Facebook in order to get up to date sales information on the best Black Friday deals, including $25,000 worth of gift cards that can be used on anything in the store.

On the Black Friday page, the retail giant promises that everybody who RSVPs will be the first to know about special sales and updates. In addition, customers are reminded about a special cinematic event that will take place at 9 p.m. on Black Friday.

Before the big day, however, customers will get chances to win from a prize pool of $25,000 worth of e-gift cards. The promotion will start the Sunday before Black Friday on Nov. 20 and run through Cyber Monday on Nov. 28. "As the week progresses, so do the monetary values, on the last day, giving you the chance to win one of 10 Best Buy e-gift cards valued at $500 each," the page says. No purchase is necessary to participate in the promotion.

Best Buy is also using its Black Friday Facebook page as a way to donate money to the Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA) at no cost to customers. Every time a customer "checks in" on the Facebook page between Nov. 18 and Nov. 24, Best Buy will donate $2 to the BGCA, up to a total of $250,000.

Best Buy has also been sporadically offering "early" Black Friday deals, but has not announced them much in advance, making the Facebook page an effective and useful tool for shoppers this Black Friday.
