BlackBerry Priv News: Priv Apps Added up Early on Google Play Before Its Launch
BlackBerry and Android lovers definitely got excited with the news that BlackBerry will be launching its very first Android smartphone. The new device, which is called BlackBerry Priv, boasts the versatility of the Android OS, and the security and productivity that BlackBerry has to offer. The new device is rumored to be unveiled soon, and now, supporting apps for the Blackberry Priv have been added up to Google Play.
According to Blackberry Central, the six published apps on Google Play, which will also come with Priv once it's launched, are the BlackBerry Launcher, BlackBerry Keyboard, BlackBerry Services, Password Keeper, BlackBerry Camera, and DTEK by BlackBerry.
The BlackBerry Launcher will allow Priv users to multitask, as well as personalize their devices, just like in any other Android devices. Since the Priv is built with a physical keyboard, having the BlackBerry Keyboard app will allow users to use a virtual touch screen keyboard. It will also have other keyboard features like having Personal Dictionary, next word prediction, and auto correction.
For those who are already familiar with BlackBerry handsets, the Priv will bring back the BlackBerry Services once it's out. The BlackBerry Services manages all the BlackBerry app data, as well as syncs the phone to keep it up-to-date. The Password Keeper will manage all secured device information, like login details and passwords, and keep all records in one app.
The BlackBerry Camera promises professional quality pictures "with minimal effort." It comes with Phase Detection Auto Focus, which takes crystal clear photos. Lastly, DTEK by BlackBerry will monitor and control the security features of the device.
The apps are not yet downloadable since the Priv is not yet launched. The release date of the new BlackBerry Priv is expected to be on Nov.16, according to iDigital Times, and fans can't wait to get a hold of the new Android smartphone from BlackBerry.
