'Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond' Episode 5 Spoilers: Can Gilbert Save the Day in 'One Butler's Blitzkrieg'?

The spotlight continues to shine on the secondary characters as the combat butler Gilbert F. Altstein takes center stage on the next episode of the Japanese action-fantasy series, "Kekkai Sensen & Beyond (Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond)." What new truths will be revealed about Klaus Von Reinherz trusted butler?

Aside from being proficient in managing his boss' household, Gilbert also happens to be a member of the crime-fighting organization Libra and is the one in charge of handling most of the said organization's intelligence network.

The upcoming episode titled "One Butler's Blitzkrieg" adapts the 10th chapter of the fourth volume of the source manga created by Yasuhiro Nightow. In it, Gilbert's assistant and fellow combat butler gets kidnapped by a creature from the Beyond, who also extracts his brain. This will lead Zapp Renfro, whose injuries Gilbert has previously tended to, and Leonardo Watch on a mission to rescue Gilbert's assistant.

In the preview for the episode, Gilbert, whose face is covered in bandages, said quarrels should be avoided, especially in a place like Hellsalem's Lot where the direct approach almost always leads to certain defeat.

It is for this reason that Gilbert has made it a point to always stay several steps back, which, in turn, also gives the impression of being dangerously aggressive.

Could the preview be hinting at Gilbert showing off his combat prowess? And if so, will his skills and abilities really be enough to save his fellow butler? After all, blitzkrieg refers to a swiftly and forcefully conducted battle.

"Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond" airs on Saturdays late night at 3:08 a.m. JST on MBS and on Sundays late night at 12:30 a.m. JST on Tokyo MX and BS11. It also airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. JST on AT-X. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site.
