Bluepoint Games Working on Remastering Another Classic Title

Is Bluepoint Games already hard at work at creating another remaster of a beloved game? It looks like that might be the case as the Austin-based developer has recently opened new job listings that talk about how they are already working on a new project that "millions of gamers are eagerly awaiting."

The developer, best known for creating various remasters and remakes for Sony, has posted several new job openings with some interesting descriptions.

"We are passionately at work remaking a classic for current-gen game systems, growing our capabilities as a team and raising the bar for what fans anticipate from us," Bluepoint wrote for the position of Senior Graphics Engineer.

Another position states, "The Bluepoint team is preparing for our next remake of a classic. Want to be part of creating something special, a game millions of gamers are eagerly anticipating?"

It seems clear that they have taken on a new project, though details are incredibly light on the matter. Assuming that Bluepoint is still developing for Sony, it could be something like "God of War," especially likely with the new game coming out in April, or perhaps something older like "Jak & Daxter" or maybe even "Ico" given the success of its "Shadow of the Colossus" remake.

It should be noted that while most of their projects have been Sony exclusives, they have developed games for the Xbox 360 as well, so it does not necessarily have to be a Sony-owned property.

Bluepoint Games recently released a remake of "Shadow of the Colossus" for the PlayStation 4, which received a tremendously positive reception with an average of 92 percent on Metacritic. It has also been a very good time for remakes and remasters as 2017 saw the release of the "N. Sane Trilogy," which single-handedly brought Crash Bandicoot back into the mainstream market. Thus, it seems the time is ripe for developers to cash-in on the trend and seek out other older titles to bring back with a fresh coat of paint.
