'Boardwalk Empire' Season 4 Casting: Ron Livingston Confirmed

Ron Livingston will be joining the cast of the upcoming season four of HBO's hit prohibition era drama "Boarwalk Empire."

Ron Livingston has signed on to play a traveling businessman who clearly has a fair amount of money at his disposal. The character strikes interest and intrigue from Gillian Darmody, the brothel owner played by Gretchen Mol, The Global Dispatch reported.

Ron Livingston is no stranger to HBO. He acted in the cable network's World War II drama entitled "Band of Brothers."

With acting credits in both comedy and drama, Livingston is certainly a well-seasoned actor. Livingston, originally from Iowa, is perhaps most well known for his starring role in the movie "Office Space" where he played an office drone turned company defrauder. He also had a recurring role on Fox's animated comedy "American Dad." Additionally, Livingston had a recurring role on the popular romantic comedy show "Sex in the City," according to IMDB.com.

Will Livingston's comedic acting chops come into play in his role on Boardwalk Empire? The show is mainly drama, but it is know to add an element of dark humor once or twice an episode.

HBO has released the start date for season 4 of their popular prohibition-era drama "Boardwalk Empire." The show, staring Steve Buscemi and Stephen Graham, will return on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013.

Before the hit cable show returns, those who need to catch up will be able to do so soon. The blu-ray set of the hit drama's third season will be made available for purchase in August.
