Boxing News 2015: Andre Berto Says Beef Between Mayweather And Broner Is Real; Nonito Donaire Gets New Prospect Challenger

Two-time welterweight champion Andre Berto has confirmed that the rift between retired undefeated fighter Floyd Mayweather Jr. and four-division world champion Adrien Broner is indeed real.

Berto's last fight was against Mayweather in September, where he lost by a wide unanimous decision margin. It also marked "Money May's" 49th professional fight, where he announced his retirement afterwards. In a recent interview with Fight Hype, Berto went on record to speak about the recent quarrel between "brothers" Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Adrien Broner.

It all stemmed from a back-and-forth trade of tirades that reportedly began with Broner with his "F**k The Money Team" statement in October. According to Berto, he even gave an unsolicited piece of advice to the younger Broner, whose attitude mirrors that of his "Big bro" with the brash talking.

"The Beast" also says that Mayweather "jumped ship" on Broner, claiming that the latter was abandoned during a "few little tough situations."

"I've always told Broner, man, he needs to be his own man anyway," said Berto.

Meanwhile, after winning the vacant WBO super-bantamweight title on Friday in Puerto Rico against Mexican Cesar Juarez, a challenger for Nonito Donaire has already surfaced.

In a report by Boxingscene, undefeated Jessie Magdaleno wants a crack at "The Filipino Flash" next. Magadaleno is said to be the WBO's highest ranked super-bantamweight as of the moment. "I would love a crack at Donaire next," Magdaleno said.

"I've been waiting for a while and now that he has a WBO title, I want it even more," Magdaleno says in the Boxingscene report.

Donaire put on a dominant performance against Juarez, scoring two knockdowns throughout the 12 rounds of action.

He now holds the same title he dropped to Cuban boxing sensation Guillermo Rigondeaux in 2013, his first career loss after an 11-year undefeated streak.

Magdaleno holds a 22-0 win-loss record, with 16 victories by knockout.
