Boxing News 2015: Roy Jones Jr. Seeking To Avenge KO Loss; Adrien Broner Up For Fight Against Manny Pacquiao

Four-division world champion Roy Jones Jr. admitted that he is tempted to avenge his recent knockout loss against Enzo Maccarinelli.

Maccarinelli stopped Jones in the fourth round of their fight in Moscow, Russia on December 12th. It marks "Captain Hook's" first loss since 2011, and first since he became an official citizen of Russia in late October.

At 46 years of age, Jones opted to continue his professional boxing career, which began in 1989. To his credit, he was on an eight-fight winning streak prior to his loss to Maccarinelli, with five of those victories ending by stoppage. Despite the recent loss, Jones is not willing to hang up his gloves just yet.

In fact, he says he wants to fight Maccarinelli in a rematch, with the hopes of avenging his loss.

"Every time I [lose a fight], I want to hold a rematch," Jones said in a report by Boxingscene. "I hate to lose. I have no fear. I am willing to fight any boxer. But it all depends on my family and on my health."

Meanwhile, reigning WBA light welterweight champion Adrien Broner says he is willing to fight Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao. "Pacman," who is also boxing's first and only eight-division world champion, is planning to hold his 66th and supposed final fight on April 9th of the coming year, to finally put his focus solely on public service.

Currently a congressman of Sarangani Province in the Southern region of the country, Pacquiao is eyeing for a senatorial seat at the 2016 Philippine Elections, which is slated to take place in May.

In another report by Boxingscene, "The Problem" says he is willing to step up as Pacquiao's opponent, noting his "love for fighting southpaws".

Broner also added how he foresees the match-up, which he described as a "young rising star" going against an "elite Hall of Famer on his way out."

"I can't wait to send him to the Philippines to go be Governor," Broner said, according to the report. "You can't put it past nobody. This is boxing. It only takes one shot."
