Brazil vs Cameroon Live Stream Free: Watch World Cup 2014 Football Online (ESPN 2 TV Start Time)
Brazil will play Cameroon on Monday in a crunch match in World Cup 2014 Group A. The host nation has still not qualified for the next round, although a point today would see them through. But if they lose here they could go out if results elsewhere go against them. Today's big game will kick off at 4 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the ESPN 2 network or online through free live stream (details below).
In team news for Brazil, forward Hulk, who has been struggling with a thigh injury, has been declared fit and should be available to play today.
One issue Brazil will want to keep an eye on is potential suspensions in today's game. Neymar, Thiago Silva, Luiz Gustavo and Ramires all already have a yellow card to their names, and another today for any of them would rule them out of the Last 16 – if Brazil make it.
For Cameroon, Alex Song is suspended for today's game. He of course was sent off for an elbow in their game against Croatia.
Also Samuel Eto'o, who has picked up a knee injury, remains doubtful, although the African team will likely give him a late fitness test to see if he can make it.
Brazil suffered bad press and criticism following their Mexico goalless draw. They are on home turf and expectations are nothing less than perfection for them in this tournament. Most other teams would be reasonably satisfied with four points from their opening two games, but Brazil's national press called their meeting with Mexico a "horror show."
That said, they are still favorites to progress. Not many can see Cameroon successfully taking down the host nation today, and even if they do, then Brazil still have a more than reasonable chance of still progressing with various results in the Mexico vs Croatia game able to see them go through.
One of the main issues Brazil are facing right now is that opposition teams are going out to disrupt their play and are willing to sit back and defend against them. Brazil are already considered one of the world's best teams, but with them being the host nation at this year's World Cup, they are the team to beat. They have been unable to impose themselves as they did in last year's Confederations Cup, and they could struggle to win again today.
Even in the knock out stages, a majority of teams would probably take the game going to penalties against Brazil. So the host nation will have to be better than ever to take down each challenge that comes their way in this tournament.
Julio Cesar has said, "This is a tough group, but that's great for us. We prefer to play against these sides and face these difficulties because it gets you focusing right from the start, which is important in short-term competitions."
