'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 4: Amy's Ex-Boyfriend Returns in Episode 13
FOX's police comedy series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is set to return next week for the second half of its fourth season. And its upcoming premiere will feature the return of Teddy (guest star Kyle Bornheimer), the ex-boyfriend of Amy (Melissa Fumero).
The upcoming episode is titled "The Audit" and viewers will get to see the squad do everything they can to save the precinct from getting shut down. The official synopsis of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 4 episode 13 reads:
"With the crime rate lowered, Brooklyn will be shutting down one of its precincts — permanently. The Nine-Nine is confident they will be evaluated fairly, until the official auditor turns out to be Amy's ex-boyfriend, Teddy. The whole squad then must band together to try to save the precinct."
FOX also released a new promo for the show's midseason premiere next week. The video opens with Jake (Andy Samberg) and Charles (Joe Lo Truglio) taking out as many high-grade police weapons as they can. In one of the scenes in the footage, Amy and Jake are having a discussion on the rooftop, as he prepares to do a very dangerous stunt.
"You are not 'Die Hard'-ing off this roof," Amy warns Jake, referring to the iconic building stunt Bruce Willis pulled off in the 1988 action film.
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is scheduled to air its season 4 finale next month, but FOX has yet to announce the renewal of the cop comedy for a fifth season. While the future of the show remains unclear, series co-creator Dan Goor is optimistic that an announcement about the show's renewal will be issued soon.
"If you're asking if we wrote a potential series finale, we did not," he told TV Line. "We do not want this to be the series finale. We've received a tremendous amount of support from the network, and I'm sure our pickup will be coming at any point."
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 4 is scheduled to return for its spring premiere on Tuesday, April 11, at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
