Bungie Bans 400 'Destiny 2' Players on PC

"Destiny 2" has finally been released on the PC, but already, several users have been banned.

It has been reported that about 400 players have been banned from "Destiny 2" without knowing why. However, Bungie, the developer of the game, has released a statement explaining the ban. First of all, "Destiny 2" does not allow players to get automatically banned. This can only be done by the developer, and usually, this only happens after a so-called "manual investigation."

Originally, it was thought that the reason for the ban is because of the game's policy forbidding players from using third-party software that is able to interact with the game through the use of codes. This is basically cheating in the most common sense.

According to Bungie, the ban was imposed on 400 players because they have made use of tools that "pose a threat to the shared ecosystem of the game." This is basically one way of saying that whoever was banned from "Destiny 2" was definitely asking for it.

Furthermore, the game had also admitted that they had banned some players that they shouldn't have been banned, and with this being said, they would be lifting such bans. They were accidentally banned due to their use of third-party applications, and now, the developer has confirmed that making use of overlays and other performance tools like Discord will not be the cause of bans in the future.

Also, the developer has admitted that it had banned in error a certain group of players whose offenses were totally unrelated to the use of third-party applications. Taking responsibility for their actions, Bungie has now lifted the ban on these players.

While the developer may have clarified the reason for the ban, this doesn't really answer some players who claim they were banned right after booting the game or the ones who didn't have any third-party apps installed on their devices.
