'Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple' Latest News: Upcoming Anime Movie to Be Released in March 2018
The members of the Armed Detective Agency are hitting the big screen in 2018, and they may find themselves face to face with their toughest opponent yet. What role will a mysterious Showa era novelist play in the upcoming anime movie, "Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple"?
Continuing on the pattern of naming characters after famous literary authors and/or the characters in their stories, a new anime original character named Tatsuhiko Shibusawa is all set to appear in the movie. Shibusawa is based on the Showa era novelist, critic, and French translator of the same name, who also dabbled in black magic, demonology, and eroticism.
But while his interests can easily peg him for a villain, the unexpected turns that the movie will take may still deny or confirm this idea. Either way, there is no doubt that Shibusawa is about to play a significant role in the Armed Detective Agency's new case, which, in turn, makes for a rather intriguing premise.
Additionally, a new trailer for the movie has been released featuring the song "Deadly Drive" by the Japanese rock band, Granrodeo. The movie will also feature the original voice cast, with the addition of Kazuya Nakai, who does the voice for Zapp Renfro in "Blood Blockade Battlefront" and Zoro Roronoa of "One Piece." He will provide the voice of Shibusawa in the upcoming movie.
"Bungo Stray Dogs" is a manga series that began serialization in Young Ace magazine in 2012. Written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa, it has been adapted into an anime series with two seasons, which both aired in 2016.
The upcoming anime film has Takuya Igarashi as its director. On the other hand, BONES will handle the movie's animation. "Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple" is set to premiere in theaters around Japan on March 3, 2018.
