Cain Prefers Christian Doctors

Controversial republican hopeful Herman Cain has again made anti-Muslim remarks at a Christian-themed amusement park in Orlando, FL.

The tea party favorite, famous for his ‘9-9-9’ tax plan, spoke to a crowd for approximately 30 minutes and opened by sharing a time when he battled stage IV colon cancer.

Although he tried to assure the audience that he has "no problem against foreign doctors,” he explained that he simply became concerned about the doctor who was treating him after learning his name which he concluded “sounded too foreign.”

Cain an African American with conservative views has been known to make anti-Muslim remarks, and no doubt ruffled a few feathers when admitting he felt uneasy after learning his doctor’s name was “Dr. Abdullah.”

Critics immediately hit back on Yahoo News forums, one user wrote, “A nauseating exploitation and trivialization of Christianity,” others were far less subtle when venting their frustrations.

It was after consulting with the Dr. Abdullah’s assistant that Cain says he felt comfortable, “My mind immediately started thinking, wait a minute, maybe his religious persuasion is different than mine. She could see the look on my face and she said, 'Don't worry, Mr Cain, he's a Christian from Lebanon.”

Cain’s questionable remarks follow a string of careless statements he’s made about Muslims, often trying to backpedal on his statements when he is confronted.

The NY Times reported Cain as saying, “he would not be comfortable with a Muslim in his cabinet,” and Muslim groups immediately demanded an explanation for the remarks.

In an interview with GQ Magazine Cain explained, “I have talked with Muslims that are peaceful Muslims. And I have had one very well known Muslim voice say to me directly that a majority of Muslims share the extremist views.”

Cain has insisted he has no issue with Muslims.
