Capcom Asked Fans to 'Stay Tuned' for the Next 'Resident Evil' Game

The horror survival game franchise released its last title a few years ago, and avid gamers can't wait for the next "Resident Evil" to be released.

Video game fans may now have something to rejoice about, since Capcom has hinted that "Resident Evil 7" may come soon.

Game Rant recently reported that producer Masachika Kawata from Capcom asked fans to "please stay tuned." Kawata said this during his interview with Dengeki PlayStation, for its 600th magazine issue, and the producer also answered other questions about the upcoming Capcom games.

Kawata was not able to confirm the release date or any details about the new "Resident Evil" installment, and said "We're currently not at a state to talk about it…"

In the most recent "Resident Evil" games, many players complained that the game has lost its horror. Kawata said they acknowledged the fans' complaints, and claims that they are currently "preparing" to bring the horror back, according to VG 24/7. "Since there's been more spin-off titles, I can see how it can be perceived in such a way. And of course I believe that we should produce titles that bring out the horror," the producer explained.

On the other hand, Kawata also answered the rumors about the previous "Resident Evil" game titles like "Resident Evil 2 and 3," and "Outbreak." When asked if these games will have any HD version, Kawata said that the company aims to "respond to as much demand as possible," as noted by Siliconera.

Meanwhile, another Capcom producer, Hiroyuki Kobayashi, said in an interview for the Dengeki PlayStation magazine that a follow-up "Devil May Cry" game and "Dragon's Dogma" offline version are not being created.

With a promise of a new "Resident Evil" game, fans are hoping that the wait between "Resident Evil 6" and "Resident Evil 7" will not be that long. After all, it has been three years since the loyal followers of the series have enjoyed a new "Resident Evil" game.
