Cara Delevingne Reveals Sexual Harassment Experience at the Hands of Harvey Weinstein: 'I Felt Scared and Powerless'
Another high profile actress comes forward claiming sexual harassment from disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein.
On Wednesday, model-actress Cara Delevingne had spoken out on how Harvey Weinstein had once tried to kiss her and make her do the same to another woman. Taking to Instagram, Delevingne wrote a statement detailing the extent of the sexual harassment she had experienced from Weinstein during the time she first started working as an actress.
According to the 25-year-old "Suicide Squad" actress, she had received a phone call from the producer who asked her if she had slept with the women linked to her online. Delevingne says she didn't answer any of Weinstein's inquiries and before she could hang up on him, the 65-year-old Hollywood producer told her that if she was gay or if she decides to be with women, especially publicly, she would never succeed as an actress let alone get straight woman roles.

After a year or two, Delevingne says that she met up with Harvey Weinstein in a hotel lobby along with a director for a film to discuss an upcoming film. However, once the director left, Weinstein began to brag about the number of women he had slept with and how he had helped establish their careers. Afterwards, the producer also talked about topics of an explicit nature before asking Delevingne to come to his hotel room. The actress explained that she refused Weinstein's invitation and then asked his assistant if her car was already there. The assistant, however, told her to come into the producer's room.
Delevingne says she felt scared and powerless at the time and had come to Weinstein's room to find another woman inside. Weinstein would then ask the two to kiss and instead of obliging to the request, Delevingne began to sing instead before leaving. Before she left, Weinstein walked her to the door and tried to kiss her.
"I stopped him and managed to get out of the room. I still got the part for the film and always thought that he gave it to me because of what happened. Since then I felt awful that I did the movie. I felt like I didn't deserve the part. I was so hesitant about speaking out....I didn't want to hurt his family. I felt guilty as if I did something wrong. I was also terrified that this sort of thing had happened to so many women I know but no one had said anything because of fear," Delevingne said on her Instagram page.
Cara Delevingne isn't the first to speak out against Harvey Weinstein. In fact, actresses such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie had claimed to have experienced sexual harassment at the hands of Harvey Weinstein.
The producer has since been fired from the Weinstein Company, and his wife, Georgina Chapman, announced she was leaving her husband.
