Apart from Glau, there are speculations that another familiar face could be taking part in the next episodes of the series. It was rumored that Alan Tudyk could be introduced as a new character since he and Fillion have worked on several other projects together.

There are also theories stating that Gerald McRaney will be coming back to the series. It was said that he will reprise his role as Mason Wood in episode 14 of "Castle" season 8. In addition, he could be heading a society of private detectives.

While there has yet to be any confirmation on what the story will hold when the series returns, the executive producer of the series, Alexi Hawley, recently shared some hints about the upcoming episode. It was revealed that the episode will learn more about Castle's past disappearance that happened in season 7.

According to TV Line, Hawley stated, "We haven't nailed the story down for it. But we do like the idea that something that Castle came across during his missing time is actually why his memory was wiped."

"Castle" season 8 is expected to return on ABC on Feb. 1.
