'Castle' Season 8B Spoilers & Update: Premiere Date Pushed Back, Lucy To Return?

American crime drama television series "Castle" will be a little delayed in returning from its winter break. According to TVLine, the show will be premiering the second half of season 8 on Monday, Feb. 8, instead of Feb. 1.

The reason for the change in the schedule is so that ABC can accommodate the live after show of "The Bachelor." This isn't the first time though that "Castle" has been moved to a different schedule. As noted in Melty, the series was supposed to return from its hiatus on Jan. 4. They then announced the changes through a new promo.

When the show returns on the small screen, it will be featuring a new case that will involve the world of competitive acapella. According to Entertainment Weekly, season 8 episode 9 will be titled "Tone Death" and it will center on the murder of a high school musical group member. The show has cast "High School Musical" alum Corbin Bleu to play the role of Hunter Washington, who is described as the leader of a rival acapella group.

Design & Trend also detailed that "Castle" will be airing an episode on Sunday, Feb. 14, so that the show will be on track with its schedule. In this episode titled "Witness for the Prosecution," Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) will find himself in a court room as a witness. By Feb. 15, the show will go back to its usual time slot and air its episode 11 titled "Dead Read." Hopefully, three new episodes in eight days will delight the fans.

In other news, someone may be returning to Rick's life. According to Enstars, Lucy, voiced by Aubrey Plaza, may be coming back in one of the upcoming episodes. Lucy is the home operating system that helped Rick throughout his separation from Kate Beckett (Stana Katic). Co-creator Alexi Hawley hinted that there may be an interaction between Lucy and Kate and there will be a little jealousy involved.
