Céline Dion News: Singer Shares Husband's Funeral Plans and Heartbreaking Obituary

As Céline Dion grieves the death of her late husband René Angélil, she is also willing to let fans into the inner circle as she shared the details of her husband's funeral plans and obituary to the public.

According to People, Angélil's funeral will be held on Friday, Jan. 22, at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, a parish that will remain special to Dion for the years to come.

The outlet has also obtained a copy of the emotional obituary prepared for the great singer and manager. Angélil asked to be laid at the said parish "where 21 years ago, he chose to marry the one who will remain as the great love of his life, the artist for which he had the most respect, the woman who gave him light and happiness until his very last breath."

The obituary goes on to relive the memories of the 73-year-old who died on the night of his 74th birthday. Numerous celebrities and big names in the industry have offered condolences for Dion and her family, including Mariah Carey, who posted a tribute on Instagram.

It was previously reported that Dion canceled her Las Vegas shows to be with her husband and care for him as he fought throat cancer.

To give fans a chance to pay their tributes to the former pop singer, Dion is opening a Chapel of Rest on Thursday, Jan. 21, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Finally, on Friday, Jan. 22, at 3 p.m, a religious service will be held to reminisce the life of Angélil.

The celebration of Angélil's life doesn't stop there. On Feb. 3, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., a "Celebration of Life" will be offered for the Félix Awardee for Manager of the Year.

At the moment, there are no details about the burial, but it is speculated that Dion will announce information about where her husband's final resting place will be.

Dion married Angélil in 1994 and the couple had three children: René-Charles, and twins Eddy and Nelson. Angélil has three other children: Patrick (with Denyse Duquette), and Jean Pierre and Anne Marie (with Manon Kirouac a.k.a. Anne Renée).
