Charles Barkley Won't Apologize for Calling San Antonio Women Fat on Air (VIDEO)

Charles Barkley surprised and entertained his fellow TNT analysts during the Sunday night broadcast by refusing to apologize to the women of San Antonio for his comments made in jest the week before. Barkley said that a lot of the women in San Antonio were on the heavier side, but admitted that he was just joking and said "hell would freeze over" before he said sorry.

Charles Barkley's antics on TNT's coverage of the NBA games is often funny or controversial, but this time, the former basketball star aimed for both. Barkley brought up San Antonio, Texas women because the Spurs are in the playoffs facing the Portland Trail Blazers in the playoffs.

"There's some big ol' women down there. … That's a gold mine for Weight Watchers," the analyst said during one telecast. "Victoria is definitely a secret … they can't wear no Victoria's Secret down there."

After his fellow analysts brought the subject up again in a later broadcast Sunday pointing out that their Twitter feeds had been inundated with negative responses, Barkley seemed to be apologizing. However, he then doubled down, saying the women of San Antonio shouldn't hold their breath for an apology.

"If you don't like me or the show, turn it off," Barkley said over his co-hosts' laughter. "And they want me to apologize. That's not going to happen. That's not gonna happen. You can write letters to your momma, your daddy, your uncle— I'm going to have fun on television."

"Y'all know that I'm joking around. But if y'all waiting on me to apologize, hell gonna freeze over," he added.

It seems, though, that the residents of San Antonio had the last laugh. An artist took the time to paint a fatter caricature of Barkley in a Spurs t-shirt and holding a taco. Above his head is an "All-U-Can-Eat" sign.
