'Chicago P.D.' Season 5, Episode 6 Spoilers: Upton Investigates Murder of a Family

The next episode of "Chicago P.D." season 5 has been postponed. Episode 6 of the series and the new episode of NBC's other crime-fighting show, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," were supposed to air on the night of Nov. 1, but they were canceled by the NBC network to give way to the World Series.

Titled "Fallen," the upcoming episode of "Chicago P.D." season 5 will center on the murder of a happy family. The synopsis for the episode reveals that in the midst of the investigation, Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) will be forced to work with someone she does not feel like working with, Vice Sergeant Sean McGrady, played by guest star Wil Traval. Together, they will search for the drug dealer responsible for the brutal killing. However, things will get more interesting when McGrady suddenly dies. Based on the synopsis, the case will take a surprising turn following McGrady's death.

It remains to be seen whether the synopsis suggests that McGrady has a connection with the drug dealer that he and Upton are looking for or if he is actually the killer. The synopsis states that the drug dealer has a "likely connection," and that connection can possibly be McGrady.

Meanwhile, NBC's last-minute decision to cancel the Nov. 1 episode of "Chicago P.D." and to not compete with Fox's World Series' rating was a good one. According to reports, Game 6 was able to garner 18.9 million viewers and scored a high rating of 5.2.

Instead of airing the new episodes of "Chicago P.D." and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," the network aired reruns of the season premieres of its September series.

The new episode of "Chicago P.D." season 5 will air on Nov. 8 at 10 p.m. on NBC, while "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" will air an hour earlier on the same day.
