Child in Dryer, Parents View Video on YouTube as Horrible Prank Goes Wrong (CLIP)
A toddler is lucky to be alive after his babysitter's unidentified "friend" put him in a dryer as a practical joke. After the door closed the machine turned on, and panic broke out to rescue the boy in the shocking incident that took place at a local laundromat.
Surveillance tapes show the moment the horrified adults realize the machine has turned on and frantically try to free the boy. The dryer's automatic lock, however, kept the machine sealed shut with the boy still inside. As the man tries to get help, others in the laundromat gathered to watch the horrifying events unfold.
One customer had the thought to push aside a table and attempt to unplug the machine from behind, but it is not until several minutes after the incident started that the machine is turned off by the laundromat's attendant. The boy's babysitter and friend then took ththe boy to a local hospital and it has now been reported that he is fine and only suffered minor injuries and bruising.

One of those in the laundromat posted the video to YouTube, where it is has already received several thousand hits. Originally it was thought the babysitter and friend were the boy's parents, but it was later revealed that they were his babysitter and friend. The babysitter allegedly only reported to the mother that the boy was bruised as he fell down the stairs. However, you can imagine the mother's shock when she viewed the shocking video on YouTube.
The incident is just the latest in an unfortunately common problem of young children being injured or even killed in washing machines and dryers. Just last month a woman in Oregon lost her one-year-old boy when he climbed into a washing machine.
"I put my hands in the washer and felt his little body," Tiffany Hebb told the Desert News. "I couldn't get him out of the washer; he was stuck, so I pulled his head above the water. He had no heartbeat, no pulse. He wasn't breathing."
By the time that Hebb was able to pull her son Ollie from the machine, it was too late. She and a neighbor rushed him to the hospital, but Hebb and husband Chris decided to take Ollie off of life support.
"We just held him, cuddling him for the last moments of life. Six hours later he took his last breath and passed away." The family decided to donate Ollie's organs to those who may need them.
