Chuck Norris is 74 And Will Still Roundhouse You
Chuck Norris is 74 years old as of Monday, and many of the legendary movie star's fans are celebrating the tough guy he has portrayed over the years. Norris has appeared in martial arts movies and even starred in his own series, "Walker, Texas Ranger," which made him famous for his lethal roundhouse kick.
Chuck Norris, originally Carlos Ray Norris, was born March 10, 1940, and seemed born to practice the highest level of martial arts. After learning martial arts while stationed in Korea as part of the U.S. Air Force, he was one of the first in the Western hemisphere to get the 8th-degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. From there, a friend convinced him to go into movies to showcase his talents.
Norris was featured in films like "Way of the Dragon" alongside Bruce Lee, "Missing in Action," "Lone Wolf McQuade" "Delta Force." Though his role as an action superstar somewhat faded by the mid to late 1980s, he reemerged in television action crime series "Walker, Texas Ranger," which cemented his popularity on TV for eight seasons.
The man known worldwide for his action films also has a steady following as a conservative speaker and devout Christian. Still, what his fans seem to like most about him is his rugged demeanor.
"Chuck Norris is 74 today," Rob Stats tweeted. "However, Chuck Norris doesn't celebrate turning 74, the number 74 celebrates being associated with Chuck Norris."
"Chuck Norris and Superman once fought each other on a bet. The loser had to start wearing his underwear on the outside of his pants," another account posted.
"Chuck Norris doesn't blow out his birthday candles, he stares at them until they extinguish themselves," Holly Taylor Moore wrote.
"Chuck Norris has already been to Mars; that's why there are no signs of life," another Twitter user said.
