Cleveland Cavaliers Trade Rumors 2016: Center Timofey Mozgov On The Way Out, Suns' Markief Morris To Be Acquired?

The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to let go of big man Timofey Mozgov, while eyeing the services of Phoenix Suns forward Markief Morris.

According to a report by Mike Chiari for Bleacher Report, the Cavaliers have been shopping around the league for a possible deal to trade the 29-year-old Russian professional basketball player, who has been underperforming as of late.

Cleveland signed Mozgov after the 2014-2015 regular season from the Denver Nuggets. During his stay with the Nuggets last season alone, he was averaging 8.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.4 steals, and 1.2 blocks through 25.6 minutes of playing time per game.

His performance with the Cavaliers was not so much an improvement, as he only put up 6.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.8 blocks, and 0.3 steals, through 17.8 minutes of playing time per game. The Cavaliers are currently situated at the top spot of the Eastern Conference standings, with a record of 28-11.

Meanwhile, as they are looking to trade one of their own, Cleveland, on the other hand, is looking to get forward Markief Morris from the Phoenix Suns.

In a report by Chris Manning for Fear The Sword, the 26-year-old professional basketball player has been "unhappy" with the Suns, who had been a mainstay for the team since he was drafted in 2011.

The said problem for Morris began when the Suns opted to let go of his twin brother Marcus, who has been playing with the Detroit Pistons since July of last year.

"Morris, who is making $8 million this season, could be acquired into the Cavs' $10.5 million trade exception if the Suns were willing to just dump Morris, but Phoenix may want assets that Cleveland just doesn't have," an excerpt of Manning's report reads.

This season, so far, Morris has been averaging 10.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.3 blocks, and 0.7 steals through 23.2 minutes of playing time per game.
