CNN's 'Finding Jesus 2' Premiers to Strong Ratings
The second season of CNN's original hit series "Finding Jesus" premiered last Sunday with a strong viewership. It attracted 1.045 million viewers, placing it second on the ratings game in cable news for the 9 P.M. ET/PT slot after Fox News 2.279 million viewers.
Among adults 25-54 range, "Finding Jesus" pulled 329,000 viewers behind Fox News' 420,000, according to Deadline. But the program attracted the biggest audience in the 18-34 category with 70,000 viewers, followed by Fox News' 53,000 and MSNBC's 38,000.
The second season began with a look at the Pilate Stone which bears a carving of Pontius Pilate's name and is considered as one of the few evidence that prove he existed. The stone was found in the 1960s in the ruins of the Roman city of Caesarea and proves that Pilate was the Prefect of Judea.

Produced by Jane Wood's Nutopia, "Finding Jesus 2" continues the gripping journey which began in the first season by discovering more of Christ. It explores groundbreaking science and discoveries to reveal more about Jesus of Nazareth.
Along with reenactments of scenes from the gospels, this season will also feature the world's foremost scholars, scientists and historians who will examine the value and authenticity of six ancient artifacts that shed fascinating new insights into the story of Jesus.
They include Erwin McManus (MOSAIC, Los Angeles), Fr. James Martin, SJ (author, "Jesus: a Pilgrimage), A.R. Bernard (Christian Cultural Center, New York), Bishop Minerva Carcaño (UnitedMethodistChurch) and Prof. Ben Witherington III (Asbury Theological Seminary).
The six-part series will explore the following topics:
- The Pilate Stone (March 5)
- The Tomb of Lazarus (March 12)
- The Childhood Home of Jesus (March 19)
- The Tomb of King Herod (March 26)
- The Bones of St. Peter (April 2)
- Relics Believed to Shed Light on Doubting Thomas (April 9)
