Cole Sprouse Finally Speaks Out About Rumors of Him Dating Co-Star Lili Reinhart

"Riverdale" Star Cole Sprouse finally addressed the Lili Reinhart dating rumors, but his statement is nothing short of vague.

Ever since "Riverdale" started airing, viewers couldn't help but notice the great chemistry between Cole Sprouse's character, Jughead, and Betty, played by Lili Reinhart. The two would eventually become the show's power couple and gain quite a number of fans who also wish for the actors to date in real life. Now, after rumors first broke out that Sprouse and Reinhart were dating during the summer, the former finally broke his silence.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sprouse was exceptionally coy when he spoke about the dating rumors.

"Since the show began, people have wanted Lili and I to be together," Sprouse began. "People have wanted Lili and Cami to be together. People have wanted KJ and I to be together. People have wanted every actor on this show to be in a union that they could make real and talk about," he went on to say.

He would go on to say how rumors should not be taken literally, saying: "I think that kind of discussion, especially because it's based so much on rumor and hearsay, needs to be taken with a grain of salt. We're all still human lives that are interacting with the source material."

However, Sprouse also shared how he felt pleased about the people talking about him and his rumored girlfriend. For him, that meant that his and Reinhart's characters' storylines have resonated quite well with the viewers.

The 25-year-old also expressed his feelings about how he and his castmates have done a great job with the roles they were given since the viewers, too, want to see them together in real life.

While neither confirming or denying those dating rumors, the supposed couple was spotted getting affectionate during Comic-Con 2017 and they were reportedly going out on movie dates.

"Riverdale" is set to return for its second season on Oct. 11.
