Conor McGregor News: 'The Notorious' To Be Part Of New 'XXX' Movie, Opens As Favorite In Odds For Aldo Rematch

Newly-crowned UFC undisputed featherweight champion Conor McGregor may likely be heading towards the direction of filmmaking, as he was reportedly offered a role in the upcoming "XXX" sequel.

"The Notorious" also opened up as an early favorite for the possible rematch against former long-time champion José Aldo. McGregor's drawing power has always been anchored on his penchant for trash talking.

Ahead of his bout against Aldo, the 27-year old Irish fighter had predicted a first round knockout, both during their original fight date in July at UFC 189, then again when it was rescheduled for December 12th at UFC 194.

What makes him more of a legitimate threat in the UFC is that he actually backs up his predictions. McGregor did finish José Aldo at UFC 194 this past weekend, knocking him out with a single straight left within 13 seconds of the fight.

McGregor's victory was recognized by the entire mixed martial arts world, whether they were fans or celebrity figures.

Most recently, Hollywood A-lister Vin Diesel showed his support for McGregor through an Instagram post. More interestingly, he also teased about "Mystic Mac's" involvement in the film "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage," a new installment to the first film that was released in 2002.

"Timing and precision... The casting of the new XXX gets more exciting everyday," Diesel wrote in the Instagram post, along with a picture of him with McGregor. McGregor has neither confirmed nor denied his involvement in the said film.

Meanwhile, the odds for his possible rematch against José Aldo already had McGregor as an early favorite. In a report by MMA Fighting, oddmakers have McGregor to be a -160 favorite against Aldo, who is a +130 underdog.

The report adds that Aldo was actually both the favorite and underdog at one point, moments before fight night on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

As of this writing, former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar is slated to face McGregor next, as stated by Dana White during the Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale post-fight press conference on Friday.
