'Covert Affairs' Season 5 Spoilers: Annie and Auggie's Relationship Severely Tested in New Episode (TRAILER VIDEO)
Tonight's "Covert Affairs" is all-new and will put Auggie and Annie's trust to the test, actor Christopher Gorham revealed. The two will travel to Paris and for the first time, Auggie will take the lead on the case while Annie acts as his handler.
"It was really fun to do," Gorham told TVGuide. "We hadn't done that role reversal before. Before, when they were in the field together, they were working as a team, both as operatives. This time, she's the one who's supposed to be behind the scenes. It'll reveal a lot about each of them and how they do their jobs."
Gorham also revealed that Auggie, a former operative, will rely on past experience and someone from the past in order to survive the operation.

"The asset is a big presence from Auggie's past … it might be somebody the audience is excited to see. Auggie's not acting in a way he might normally if there wasn't that history, and that has an effect on Annie. She's not used to hanging back and she wants to get the job done. The choices she makes in that role really affect her and Auggie's relationship for the rest of the season. They're in a place you haven't seen them in," Gorham said.
Of course, fans will remember that Auggie put himself in a huge situation by deleting crucial information about Annie's health. He cleaned her medical records of any information pertaining to her heart ailment, which could have her removed from the field. It was a big risk for Auggie, who could lose his own job in an instant if found out.
"He did something huge for her," Gorham said. "Trust has been a big, key part of their relationship throughout the series and that gets tested in a big way."
