'Criminal Minds' Season 11 Spoilers, Plot News: A.J. Cook Returns from Leave; BAU Team Heads to San Francisco to Help Rossi's Daughter
After A.J. Cook gave birth and took a maternity leave, the actress finally announced that her character's (Agent Jennifer Jareau) comeback will happen this seventh episode of "Criminal Minds." The upcoming episode of the show, which his titled "Target Rich," will have the BAU team travel to San Francisco to help David Rossi's (Joe Mantegna) daughter, Joy (Amber Stevens West).
Cook announced her return through an Instagram post about two weeks ago. She posted a picture of her and her newborn son, and the photo is captioned, "To all those concerned: Don't worry! I'll be back on #criminalminds episode 7. Thank you for missing me and thank you for understanding that I need #mommytime."
Her character, JJ, will help the other FBI behavioral analysts to help Joy, Rossi's daughter, in finding a missing college student. The BAU team will also have their hands full because they will discover that Giuseppe Montolo (Robert Neary) died in prison. Now that the hitman is gone, the team will have to look for another lead to find out who the members of the "Dirty Dozen" are, since Montolo was the only source of information they have. The "Dirty Dozen" is a group of killers that were introduced in the show's season 11 premiere, which the FBI agents have been tracking all throughout the season.
Spoilers Guide posted a summary of the upcoming episode, and the synopsis reads, "As the BAU welcomes JJ back from maternity leave, the team helps Rossi's daughter investigate a college student's disappearance. The BAU helps Rossi's journalist daughter, Joy (Amber Stevens West), investigate the disappearance of a college student. Also, the team is alarmed when Giuseppe Montolo (Robert Neary) dies in prison after he warns Morgan about the 'Dirty Dozen,' an underground group of hitmen, and JJ returns from maternity leave."
