'Dancing With the Stars' News: Competition Getting Tense as the Dancing Pairs Go All Out Before the Finale

Last night was the semi-finals night of the hit reality dancing competition "Dancing With the Stars," and the remaining four pairs gave it their all to win the Mirror Ball trophy next week.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, last night was the very first time that the semi-finalists would have to dance three routines. Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess, Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough, Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson, and Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold would all have to perform an unlearned dance routine, a trio dance with a pro dancer, and a dance-off against one of the other remaining celebrity.

Bindi and Derek danced salsa for their "unlearned" dance routine, and partnered with the pro dancer Mark Ballas for their trio dance. The two got triple 9s for their salsa routine, and got a perfect score for their trio dance with Mark.

Alek and Lindsay danced waltz for their duo performance, where they got triple 10 from the judges. The dancing couple danced with Emma slater for their trio, and got triple 9s for their Argentine tango performance.

Partners Nick and Sharna performed tango for their couple dance, and got the lowest score of the night with triple 8s. However, the two made up for their low score when they danced with Peta Murgatroyd, and earned their perfect 10s.

Carlos and Witney got 28 points (9, 9, 10) from the judges for their Contemporary dance. The duo was the only one who did not get a perfect score, since their Charleston routine with Karina Smirnoff only got them 29 points (9, 10, 10).

Bindi danced-off with Nick, and the Australian host won their battle, Alek danced-off with Carlos, but lost to the actor. The winners of the dance-off earned an extra three points added to their scores.

It was a non-elimination night, according to Hollywood Life, because Tamar Braxton earlier withdrew from the competition. All four dancing partners will continue on the finals next week, and fan votes will help determine the winner this season. According to Heavy.com, Bindi and Nick are at the bottom 2, so the two will definitely need most of the public's votes.

Watch the finale of "Dancing With the Stars" next week on ABC.
